When you identify the distractions then you can review how much you want to give your energy to these things. Sometimes people channel their energy for work, other times it's for relationships. People channel their creativity into their projects, into their hobbies, into their passions. Some might even escape into the very same things but they keep taking their precious energy. Sometimes you just need a break. We’ll take a break from work. I’ll take a vacation. Take a few needed moments for yourself.
In preparation for flight, there’s a useful reminder: putting on your oxygen mask before helping others. There are so many people who love to give, take care, and provide for others. That is their reality. That is their passion. That is their purpose. You might also notice some of these people continue to give even though they are depleted of their own beautiful and precious energy. In order to reclaim your energy, discover what brings it back.
Sometimes it could be as simple as seeing a statement such as: "I reclaim all of my precious energy right now." It gives you power over where you direct your energy. It gives you a reminder of your energy. For the next day, you choose to give energy to things again. If there's something that borrowed your energy today then you have a choice not to give it any more energy the next day. If you feel that the energy has not returned to you then you can try some additional techniques for reclaiming your energy for this moment.
Try to step away from an electronic device for a minute, for an hour, for a day. As much as it can be convenient, it can easily distract and drain your precious energy over and over and over again. How often are you concerned about missing a message, email, reply that you need to be so connected? How much of the instant gratification you crave from your phone? Can you go with silent notifications even for an hour or two? Try it out and see how it can shape your reality and give you a moment to connect with yourself.
Another way to reclaim your energy is to immerse yourself with nature. Leave your devices at home and just take a walk, take a drive out to an ocean, forest, desert, mountain, and sit there for a few minutes or a few hours. Appreciate being there. Nature has a beautiful way of recharging us with energy. Sometimes people practice sungazing early in the day or late in the day. It’s lower on the horizon and further away so that the light isn’t as harsh.
Others might try a strategy of meditating, one where you focus your mind on being in this present moment. With meditation, you can become aware of the reality around you at a heightened level. Acknowledge the sensation of your breath as it goes in and out of you. Pay attention to where your mind wanders off to.
And one other straightforward strategy, choose to do something for yourself. It could be setting aside a few moments to read a new book. Perhaps it could be taking yourself shopping. You might want to cook something fancy for yourself. Remember to take care of what you want. Each of these moments are reminders of your ability to reclaim your precious energy. As you continue to do this on a regular basis, you'll notice how much easier it is to reclaim your energy. As you reclaim your energy, you'll be reminded that you can be in this moment. And being in this moment transfers in between your physical and non-physical realms.
