Pause for a moment and write down what’s happening around you. Are you free of distractions even for this second this minute this hour? How can you create a little room for yourself? Just for you.

After that pause, some might not even come back to this video since another thing in life caught their attention. Consider this situation: someone is a father with the newborn. He also makes important decisions for his company, and he’s focused on ensuring its success. As he gets all of these wonderful tasks taking care of, he gets pulled ever so slightly away from the present. Many of these projects that need his attention I do in a week a month ¼ or a year. With the newborn, he's her world. He takes care of her and shapes her reality. I asked him once, are you present in the moment when you're holding her in front of your face?

You can see him pause and admits that he was always thinking about something else. I asked him, what drives you and motivates you in life? He shared that his daughter changed his reality and everything that he does is for her.

At that moment I suggested, next time you hold her in your hands and look at her face to face, Remember to cherish that moment right then and there that only you two will share. A week later He shifted how he focused on those Specific moments for his reality. this subtle shift in reality enables you to determine what's a priority or what's a distraction.

Often, the past and the future can draw us away from this moment. Those are the distractions from this moment. Carefully find examples of people who have constantly been running from the past. their actions indicate someone who wants to they change everything about their past so that no one has to experience it. they sometimes forget that it’s those experiences that enable them to connect with others who have gone through it as well.

Other times, you might notice someone who's constantly living in the future. They are creating or planning for a minute from now, an hour from now, that day from now, a year from now. They aren't even present. As their life falls into place as they planned it, they are conditioned to live in the future and constantly prepare. You might often notice that being spontaneous and living in this moment might make them feel uncomfortable. Some might be trying their best to get to this moment right now and they will get there.

Notice how everything is drawing you away from this moment. It could be the media or social media shifting you towards the past or the future or other people projecting their reality into you. Another type of distraction that brings you to the past is the reflection upon decisions that you could have or would have made.

Consider if you have ever thought phrases like these: if I only did this better, if I did this differently, I wish I had, I should have done that, My life would be so different if this happened, I can’t believe that I did that. These thoughts and many others Can fuel extended periods of depression since you’re living in the past.

Those thought phrases can be applied to the future as well: Next time I’ll do this better, I’ll make sure to be different, with my next opportunity I'll make that choice, my life will be different because I take these actions, I won't make that mistake again. Many of these phrases or thoughts can be attributed to a person who learns from their mistakes. How often do they repeat mistakes without realizing that they are in the same loop of living outside of this moment?

One additional key detail is to pay attention to the words that you use or people use around you. If you keep telling yourself that you'll be doing things better, you're also telling yourself that you're not good enough right now. Remember to be mindful of how powerful your words can be as you embrace being present in this moment.
